T&T?s Jeron Thompson was yesterday disqualified for the second time at the Sixth FINA World Junior Swimming Championships in Indianapolis, USA.
Thompson, ranked 19th overall and swimming in heat six out of eight, recorded a time of 29.92 seconds but was subsequently disqualified. He was one of only two swimmers in the eight-man field not to progress to the next round, the other being Dominican Republic?s Fausto Huerto who clocked 28.92.
That heat was won by the number two ranked Italian, Alessandro Pinzuti in 27.49 seconds.
On Thursday, Thompson also had a disappointing outing in the men?s 50m freestyles after he was also disqualified in heat two swimming from lane eight in the heats.
Also in his heat will be Costa Rica?s Bryan Alvarez, Colombian Juan Camilo Ocampo, Ecuador?s Anyelo Mendoza, Puerto Rico?s Jarod Alexander Arroyo, Chile?s Martin Baffico, Ecuador?s David Farinango and Costa Rican Jose David Solis Rosales.
